Billy R. Toms, M.D., FAAP, (Retired 2014)

Founding Partner Jamestown Pediatric Associates

Billy R TomsDr. Billy Toms was born in Bienville, Louisiana. In 1970, he received his MD degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. From New Orleans, Dr. Toms moved to Philadelphia, PA, where he acquired his residency in Pediatrics through the Philadelphia Naval Regional Medical Center and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, completing that program in 1974. Dr. Toms was then transferred to the Naval Regional Medical Center in Corpus Christi, Texas, and served as staff pediatrician until his honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy in 1977.

After maintaining a pediatric practice In Greenville, Texas for 13 years, Dr. Toms and his wife, Kay, relocated to Jamestown, New York in 1991, where he was instrumental in establishing Jamestown Pediatric Associates in 1992. Having now served in the practice of pediatrics for over 40 years, Dr. Toms states that he continues to be in awe of all the improvements in the quality of care for children during that period of time. He further states that he believes those who care for children, including pediatricians, mid-level providers, nurses and pediatric office staff, to be more dedicated to the overall care of their patients than any other profession.

The partners of Jamestown Pediatric Associates are particularly interested in giving back to our community. Jamestown Pediatric Associates has been able to accomplish this through numerous endeavors including annually awarding a four-year college scholarship to an outstanding regional high school student, supporting the Children's Safety Village, and also lending support to other charities and community programs.

Jerzy Przygodzki, MD, FAAP

Jerzy PrzygodzkiJPA pediatrician, Dr. Jerzy Przygodzki is a native of Poland, where he graduated from the Medical School of Lodz in 1993. He is board-certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics, and has been a physician with Jamestown Pediatric Associates since July of 2001. Dr. Przygodzki wanted to become a pediatrician so he would have the opportunity to work with children.

He and his wife, Barbara, have two teenage sons, Lucas and Michael. They relocated to Jamestown because they like the small-town atmosphere and all the region has to offer. In his spare time, Dr. Przygodzki enjoys gardening, reading, hiking, swimming and woodworking.

Barbara Odell Mincarelli, MD, FAAP

Barbara Odell MincarelliDr. Barbara Mincarelli is a 1991 graduate of Clymer Central School. She then received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychobiology at Binghamton University. After receiving her medical degree at SUNY Buffalo in 2001, she spent four years in Hershey, PA, where she completed a combined residency program in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Penn State University. She then joined JPA in 2006.

Dr. Mincarelli and her husband, Mark, also from Chautauqua County, were so happy to be able to relocate near family and friends here in the Jamestown area. "I can't think of anything more rewarding than taking care of children and teenagers in the communities that have given so much to me."

In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her husband and son, Samuel.

Lynn M. Dunham, MD, FAAP

Lynn M DunhamDr. Lynn Dunham was born and raised in Jamestown, New York. She is a 1988 graduate of Jamestown High School and a 1992 graduate of Colgate University, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Neuroscience. Dr. Dunham earned her Doctorate of Medicine degree from SUNY Buffalo School of Medicine in 1999 and completed her residency in Pediatrics in 2002 at Children's Hospital of Buffalo.

Dr. Dunham joined JPA in 2002 and has been practicing as a pediatrician in her hometown for the last ten years. "I have truly enjoyed providing a service to the community that offered me so much while I was growing up." She became a pediatrician because she enjoys both the challenges and rewards of taking care of well and sick children. Currently a partner at JPA, she is also the medical director of the Child Advocacy Program, performing medical examinations on sexually abused children, and has served as the Chairman of Pediatrics for several years at WCA Hospital. She is also on the Board of Directors of the Gebbie Foundation.

Dr. Dunham conducted two years of research in the Department of Pediatrics at Strong Memorial Hospital and her research work has been published in the American Journal of Physiology and Epilepsia. In recent years, she has been a part of various medical mission teams that have travelled to Brazil and Haiti to provide medical care for the underprivileged in those countries.

When she is not working, Dr. Dunham enjoys spending time with her teenage daughter, Sarah, boating on Chautauqua Lake, traveling, skiing; and volunteering at local agencies.

Carrie L. Rowan, DO, FAAP

Carrie L RowanDr. Carrie Rowan was also born and raised in Jamestown, so she believes that practicing pediatrics in this area is a natural solution for her desire to contribute to the community that supported her in her childhood. She enjoys working with children and adolescents and watching them grow and prosper, and speaks at local high schools on a variety of medical topics.

Dr. Rowan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Allegheny College and graduated from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2000. She completed her Pediatric residency in 2003 at Children's Hospital of Buffalo, and is board-certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics. In her spare time, she keeps active looking after her four children.

Virginia B. Campion, MD, FAAP

Virginia B CampionDr. Virginia Campion was born in Buffalo, New York. She attended Duke University for undergraduate school, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1986. In 1990, she earned a Doctorate of Medicine degree from SUNY Buffalo Medical School.

Dr. Campion and her husband, Jim, chose Jamestown to raise their two sons and daughter because it is a small community and is where Jim grew up. Jamestown Pediatric Associates was an attractive practice for Dr. Campion because she believes it represents the same orientation to family as the community itself. She enjoys the opportunity to practice the utmost of medical care for her patients.

When she is not working at JPA, Dr. Campion likes to read, go for walks and spend time with her family.

 

Trisha Lindstrom, CPNP

Trisha LindstromTrisha is a board-certified CPNP at Jamestown Pediatric Associates. She was raised in New Hartford, New York and attended the University of Rochester for her bachelor's and master's studies. She is a published author and an occasional public lecturer on various health topics, and has worked as a staff nurse in Strong Memorial Hospital where she was also the Burn Care Coordinator. She started her CPNP career at New York Presbyterian Babies Hospital in Manhattan, in the Pediatric Intensive Care unit. She started her NP career in Jamestown in 2005, and joined Jamestown Pediatric Associates in 2009. Trish resides in Jamestown with her husband Mark and their children. She enjoys reading, running and spending time with her family. She is dedicated to giving each patient the highest quality of care. Caring for foster care children especially has become a passion for her in the office.

 

 

Amanda Marengo, RPA-C

Amanda MarengoAmanda is a board certified Physician Assistant at Jamestown Pediatric Associates. She was raised in Panama, New York. She is a 2004 graduate of Panama Central School, and 2008 graduate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania, where she received her Bachelors of Science in Biology. She continued her education at Chatham University, where she received her Masters of Science in Biology in 2009, and Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from South University in Tampa FL, in 2013. Amanda has a strong passion and desire to work with the pediatric population. She looks forward to taking care of the youth in the community she grew up in. She recently relocated to Jamestown with her husband and three dogs. In her spare time she enjoys playing with her dogs, running, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Lori McGowan, PMHCNS, BC

Lori McGowanLori is a board certified Child/Adolescent Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist. She received her Bachelor of Nursing degree at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana and her Master's degree at the University of Cincinnati. She began her career as an intensive care nurse in a pediatric burn unit followed by 3 years in pain management. Loris has specialized in ADHD and school related difficulties since 1995. She joined Jamestown Pediatric Associates in 1999. Lori and her husband live in Bemus Point, New York. They enjoy travelling, golf and visits with their grandchildren.

Jenn Lisciandro, Lactation Counselor

Jenn LisciandroJenn Lisciandro is Jamestown Pediatric Associates Certified Lactation Counselor. She completed her medical education at the Meadville Medical Center in Meadville, PA. In her spare time, she enjoys running and spending time with her family.
